Kurosaki Yu

Yu Kurosaki (born 1979) is a renowned Japanese master blacksmith and one of the most respected knife makers in Takefu Knife Village, Echizen. Known for creating high-performance, hand-forged Japanese knives that blend function with artistry, Yu brings both skill and personality to every blade. After a 12-year apprenticeship under legendary blacksmith Hiroshi Kato, he opened his own workshop in 2014, becoming the youngest craftsman to earn the master blacksmith designation. Yu Kurosaki is especially famous for his bold, innovative tsuchime (hammered) finishes, including the iconic Senko, Shizuku, and Fujin patterns, which have made his knives instantly recognizable among chefs and collectors worldwide.
