Katsushige Anryu is a fourth generation blacksmith from Takefu. He trained under his father Katsutoshi Anryu and has been making blades for over 50 years. This series is produced with help from Anryu-sans nephew and very talented blacksmith Takumi Ikeda.

His Hammered Kurouchi line is forged from aogami super steel, wrapped in a stainless cladding. These knives sharpen very easily and have superb edge retention. I have found that these knives have very consistent grinds and great fit and finish. Fitted with a rosewood and pakka octagonal handle.
