Yoshimi Kato is a very talented bladesmith located in Echizen Japan, who works primarily from Takefu Knife Village.

This series is made from SPG Strix laminated in soft stainleess rated at 63 HRC. SPG Strix is a newer steel from Takefu steel that was made to be similar to SG2 but increased sharpenability and wear resistance. The blade face has a V shaped tsuchime pattern to relieve surface tension and increase food release. These blades are lightweight and very performance focused. The blade is fit with an octagonal rosewood and maple ferrule.
