Jakuchu Ito is one of the most famous Japanese painters of the Edo period, and was born in Nishiki Market in Kyoto. He left behind many works, from national treasures to important cultural properties, ranging from ink-only ink paintings with a bold touch to colorful and delicate styles of painting.
