Manaka Hamono is a 5th generation blacksmith, now located in Sanjo Niigata. He spent many years practicing a hand laminating technique and never uses hand laminated materials. This way he can control the temperature of the steel during the laminating process and retain the best qualities in the steel.
The ENN series is one of his highest offerings. The blade is hand forged using Aogami #1 core, hand laminated with a housemade high layer damascus made from Aogami #2 and soft iron. The bevels are hon-kasumi finished on a progression of Japanese whetstones which refines the geometry and makes for easy maintenance moving forward. The blade is kurouchi finished with a striking hammered pattern and Kisuke engraving and stamps. Comes fitted with an octagonal ebony handle.
