Kisuke KOKUENN Blue #1 Damascus Kiritsuke Gyuto 240mm

Manaka Hamono is a 5th generation blacksmith, now located in Sanjo Niigata. He spent many years practicing a hand laminating technique and never uses hand laminated materials. This way he can control the temperature of the steel during the laminating process and retain the best qualities in the steel.

The KOKUENN series is one of his highest offerings. The blade is hand forged using Aogami #1 core, hand laminated with a housemade high layer damascus made from Aogami #2 and soft iron. The blade is fully ground and etched deeply to reveal the damascus patterning, finished with Kisuke engraving and stamps. Comes fitted with an octagonal figured rosewood handle that plays well with the waves in the damascus steel.
