This Nakayama Tomae feels a tad softer than the rest we got this batch and has very fast cutting speed. Beautiful freckles and patterns run throughout. Also bearing a Maruka stamp! :)
Nakayama Tomae are one of the most prized natural stones co ming from Japan and for very good reason. The have incredibly fast cutting speed, wear resistance and leave amazing edges. The finish they provide is reflective but with high contrast between steels. Known for eliminating scratches, the slurry that these produce is pitch black. Higher hardness than some, but loved for their soft feeling and responsiveness.
