The Tsunehisa SLD Santoku is a simple but very well executed blade using Hitachi SLD steel. SLD is a high carbon stainless steel that has comparable sharpness and edge retention to blue carbon steel but is very stainless and easy to care for. The grind on these is super clean with convex bevels and very thin cutting edge. The handle is bolsterless full tang using a black pakka wood. Perfect for a first time Japanese knife owner or someone just looking for a new high performance daily driver!
