Located in Echizen, Yu Kurosaki forges high performance blades true to the tradition of his region but also incorporating new finishing techniques, creating some of the most unique and beautiful blades available.

His new line Gekko is forged from VG XEOS and cladded in soft stainless. VG XEOS is a new steel developed by Takefu Special Steel Co. that combines high corrosion resistance with high hardness and durability. The steel is said to have a fine microstructure created by a special melting method that improves wear resistance, strength, and quenching properties. These blades have a wide bevel style grind with a very light textured finish. Fitted with octagonal ebony handles and brass accents.
